It's nice to have some extra roominess, and this tube provides that. Being up out of the water a bit more is also a nice feature in that it allows you to move a bit faster than in a tube where you are sitting deeper in the water. The Problems: The marketing picture on this tube is deceptive (not only on this site but others). It shows that there are bungee cord connections that clip on to keep your stripping apron suspended above your lap; however this is not the case - there's only Velcro patches which IMO do not cut it! This is false advertising by the way :( This was the most irritating issue. The next most irritating issue is that the back rest bladder should be sown further back. When you pump this auxiliary bladder up to full, it pushes you forward into a more uncomfortable seating position; so in effect you must under-inflate this bladder to be comfortable in terms of a sitting position. The third most irritating thing about this design is they did not have a strap that goes between your legs (groin strap) connecting the spreader pole (on the apron) to your seat. This is helpful in that it creates a greater sense of security, and it will allow you to adjust your seat tilt for added comfort. Fourth issue is typical with these U-style float tubes. That is the spreader bar, which is integrated into the apron, is made out of 2 pieces of week PVC tubing with a wider short piece of PVC that couple the two halves together. This piece usually will eventually break. This is cheap on the manufacturer's part, and this can certainly easily be improved - and certainly can be done with little or no added cost.
Other than these issues, again the tube is roomy, has lots of storage, you sit higher out of the water, and the tube should last 4-5 seasons of vigorous use before you will be looking at a replacement. Oh, one other gripe. One of the zipper strings pulled off already on my third use. No one should pay more than $125 for this tube based on quality of build, design omissions and design flaws.
Ultimately I actually did the apron mod, beefed up the apron spreader pole, and sewed in a groin strap myself -- which was a hassle, but made the tube what it really should be in terms of a finished product.
I've owned many float tubes over the years, and am a very experienced, avid float tube fisherman; so my final verdict: Could be great, but only reasonably decent out of the box (needs significant modifications to be great).
