This stuff looks nasty, and it is. The tips of the spikes are sharp. We were pricked numerous times, but it was well worth the effort. We woke up feeling like we were in a remake of Hitchcock's THE BIRDS. There were hundreds of birds fighting to nest on 100 ft of our eaves at 6:30 am. We found some of this at a hardware store nearby and ordered more from Amazon. The birds were not happy with us - we were squawked at, dive-bombed and pooped on during the installation. But a week later all the birds were gone! They had given up and moved on. This stuff works. Most of the consumer Reviews tell that the "Bird-X Plastic Bird Spikes, 50-Feet" are high quality item.
